In Acts 1:8, it reads “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
This was the scripture of the day and I felt like the Holy Spirit wanted me to post this for my blog. I was supposed to post this blog on Saturday, but God has been telling me to REST. Plus, I’m not good at resting as there always seems to be things that need to be done. I really don’t know how to REST. I always find something to do. Well, our Father, knows how I am (like Martha) and so He made sure I would rest by giving me a stiff neck! If you have never had a stiff neck, then you will not understand the pain and why you cannot do anything…lol! The pain was enough that I did not feel comfortable driving and was unable to attend any services on Saturday, June 26th.
You see, Saturday, is our Sabbath. We attend Power and Authority Ministries on Saturday morning in Lewisville, TX and then drive to Southlake and attend the 4:00pm service at Gateway Church. I felt it would be too dangerous for me to drive. Vik does not drive since his seizure behind the wheel of our car in 2018. (If you would like to hear his testimony, please reach out and we would love to witness to you). So, I obeyed the little voice in my head and stayed home on Saturday. If I had listened on that fateful day in 2018, when I questioned Vik about letting me drive instead of him, well, he still might be able to drive, but then we would not have the glorious testimony to share with you.
When our Father, tells you to do something, He means for you to do it. Of course, like children do, we ask questions: why?, Can we do it some other time?, But I don’t want to?, etc….People get extremely hard-headed and stubborn. They want to do it their way. They are not thinking about their spouse or children. They are being selfish and only thinking about themselves.
Stop and think about the last time, you heard a little voice telling you to go home now. Did you obey that voice? Or did you stay a little longer at the party, pool hall, at a friend’s place? I’m sure we had any number of excuses why we needed to stay longer.
What happened when you stayed longer? Your significant other was upset because you didn’t keep your word! You missed a show you promised your child you would watch with them! Your wife/husband made you a special dinner to surprise you and you ruined it because it got cold when you didn’t show up!
Do you realize you are listening to the enemy? The little voice you heard telling you to go home was he Holy Spirit trying to get you to follow what was in the best interest of the Lord. The fleshy side of the child was the enemy saying stay, it will be okay. You made a commitment to your spouse saying we are in this together. Yet, you didn’t honor that commitment when you were being selfish.
God’s plans are BIGGER than us! Distractions are everywhere! Exodus 14:14 says, “The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still.”
Those are POWERFUL words! Our Father is there to help us. At our core, we all want to do the right thing, say the right words and be the perfect person. Alas, we are born into this earthly experience to glorify our King. So, when temptations arise, we are to look to the Father. HE WILL FIGHT FOR YOU!
One day, I started to take offense. I could feel it rising up! So, I went outside and opened my bible app and started reading out loud. Then praying and pacing. We are called to LOVE, and I began asking the Father, “why people could be so mean?” All I got was “LOVE”. It was hard. So, I reached out to the women on my Board, they helped me and we prayed. Abba, our Father, sent them to me to help ME! He will do the same for you! All you have to do is ask!
He wants that relationship with you and for you to know Him! He wants YOU to tell others about Him! This is what we are called to do! You may think you are insignificant, but I am here to tell you that is NOT TRUE! He sees each and every one of us! He is just waiting for us to reach out, call His name, Pray! He is right there waiting!
He created this ministry and we are right here for you, too! Just send us an email to info@unitymarriageministry.org. We look forward to hearing from you!
