BEING REAL IN OUR MARRIAGES

Being real in our marriages, means it’s not about what I want, but who God has called me to be. The reality of the situation is that we live here on earth and God has given each of us an assignment. So many of us are oblivious to God’s voice telling us what He wants us to do and we just go about our lives doing what we want. I’m here to tell you that trying to do everything on your own will not cut it!

In a Christian marriage, the focus is not the husband or wife, but Jesus Christ. He is to be at the CENTER which means we ask Jesus what He wants us to do, first and foremost.

There will be times when you will have to willingly choose to do what the Holy Spirit told you to do and it will be in direct conflict with what your family wanted you to do. It will be hard, but choosing God over your family is correct because God’s plans are so much greater than ours. The sooner you teach your children, your spouse and your loved ones that God comes first, the easier it will be for them to accept when that time comes.

God hates divorce and that word should not even be in your vocabulary. The two of you chose each other, whether it was God ordained or not, makes no difference. Now, there are circumstances where a divorce is warranted, but of course, that should be the last alternative. REMEMBER, God still loves you! You are His child and He only wants good for you.

I KNOW as I have been married 4 times! I have gone to God and asked Him for forgiveness; I’ve repented and look what He’s done to me!!!! He said we should have a MARRIAGE MINISTRY, people! He is using the experiences we have had to help others! My husband, Vik, is from India….a whole other culture! Plus I am older than him! There is a lot going on in what God is doing with this ministry! He is, also, a disabled veteran of the Marine Corps.

We have a couple on our board who have raised twin daughters! It’s hard to tell them apart by looking at them….yet their  personalities are so different! Our other couple on the board have gone through in-vitro and have 2 beautiful daughters! Plus, the mother is a breast cancer survivor!

GOD IS USING ALL OF US TO HELP YOU!

So, we should learn to accept our spouses with their imperfections, as we are all flawed. No one is perfect except God! Learn to TRUST our Father as it says in Jeremiah 29:11 NIV….. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

I hope this helps you and your marriage! You can always go to our Prayer Wall and add a prayer request. It does not need to be about marriage or a relationship. It can be about anything! It would be our pleasure to pray and stand with you!

If you need to talk with someone, please reach out to info@unitymarriageministry.org. It would bless and honor us to speak with you! REMEMBER:

WE    ARE     HERE     FOR    YOU!
