LEADING THE FAMILY

God created marriage, but marriage is not for everyone. God created man, then He created woman from man’s rib. The man, as the husband is to lead the family God’s way. This is not an easy assignment!

Both husband and wife need to be on the same page. They both need to understand that Jesus must be in the center for the family to live harmoniously.

The ideal is for the parents to pray together every day and, also, create family prayer time with the children. In this way, the children learn their identity in Christ Jesus. This is so important, especially in today’s era. So many children get confused of their identity and who Christ made them to be. Environmental factors such as bullying at schools make children feel uncomfortable about the way they look. Then they want to change to feel accepted. This is why a lot of parents are homeschooling their children because the faculty is not addressing the issues.

God structured the family thus: Ephesians 5:22-33 TPT

22 For wives, this means being devoted to your husbands like you are tenderly devoted to our Lord, 23 for the husband provides leadership for his church, as the Savior and Reviver of the body. 24 In the same way the church is devoted to Christ, let the wives be devoted to their husbands in everything, 25 And to the husbands, you are to demonstrate love for your wives with the same tender devotion that Christ demonstrated to us, his bride. For He died for us, sacrificing Himself 26 to make us holy and pure, cleansing us through the showering of the pure water of the Word of God. 27 All that He does in us is designed to make us a mature church for His pleasure, until we become a source of praise to Him—glorious and radiant, beautiful and holy, without fault or flaw. 28 Husbands have the obligation of loving and caring for their wives the same way they love and care for their own bodies, for to love your wife is to love your own self. 29 No one abuses his own body, but pampers it—serving and satisfying its needs. That’s exactly what Christ does for His church! 30 He serves and satisfies us as members of His body. 31 For this reason a man is to leave his father and his mother and lovingly hold to his wife, since the two have become joined as one flesh. 32 Marriage is the beautiful design of the Almighty, a great mystery of Christ and His church. 33 So every married man should be gracious to his wife just as he is gracious to himself. And every wife should be tenderly devoted to her husband.

God goes on to say in His 5th commandment:  Honor your father and mother. (found in Exodus 20:12) AND in Proverbs 22:6 TPT, it reads; Dedicate your children to God and point them in the way that they should go, and the values they’ve learned from you will be with them for life.

So, if you feel you cannot follow the structure that God laid out for the family, maybe you need to go speak with a Christian Counselor or a Christian Life Coach, such as us.

I hope this helps you and your marriage! You can always go to our Prayer Wall and add a prayer request. It does not need to be about marriage or a relationship. It can be about anything! It would be our pleasure to pray and stand with you!
