Do you know what God considers as priceless? MARRIAGE!

First, let’s be clear on the meaning of priceless. It means there is no price that can be put on something; it means valuable.

We live in a time when marriage is dishonored in several ways. In Genesis, Satan tried to destroy and redefine this holy institution that God created and ordained as sacred and priceless. But he has not been able to succeed!

God, the Father, created man and woman in His image. Genesis 1:27-28 NLT reads, 27 “So God created human beings in His own image. In the image of God He created them; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the “animals that scurry along the ground.”

Now in Malachi 2:14 NLT, it says that God honors marriage by being the Witness at the wedding.

“You cry out, “Why doesn’t the Lord accept my worship?” I’ll tell you why! Because the Lord witnessed the vows you and your wife made when you were young. But you have been unfaithful to her, though she remained your faithful parner, the wife of your marriage vows.””

Jesus Christ, the Son, talks about marriage in Matthew 19:4-6, where He says, “4 Haven’t you read the Scriptures?” Jesus replied. “They record that from the beginning ‘God made them male and female.'” 5 And He said, ” ‘This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’ 6 Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what God has joined together.”

So, as you can see, Marriage is very important to God! Just as God is important to me and I do my best to honor Him in everything I do, say or think!

We are told to honor our vows and that marriage should be honored. In Hebrews 13:4 NIV it says, “Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.” 

And then Paul says in Ephesians 5:31-33 NLT, “31 As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.” 32 This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one. 33 So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.”

To sum everything up God views marriage as PRICELESS! It’s important to Him and it should be important to you!
