What are YOUR sparks that bring love and laughter into your life?
One of our sparks is doing life with our church community. We go to lunch or dinner, we fellowship and we pray together for whoever needs prayer. Not just each other, but our waiters, waitresses, others who are sitting waiting for a table, cashiers, etc….in fact, we closed a Dairy Queen one night praying over all of the employees that were there!
Another spark for us is going to movies! Vik and I love watching movies together! We went to one a couple of months ago titled, “COME OUT in Jesus’ name”! It was a very, very powerful documentary about revival. As we were walking out, one of the ladies just started crying. We stopped what we were doing and prayed over her. Then this young boy came over and laid his hand on her and began to pray. It was beautiful! See how God uses each one of us!!!
Sometimes, we just sing the songs on WAY FM 89.7. This is a Christian radio station that we both just love! We sing together. Sometimes, one sings while the other just listens. It doesn’t matter whether we are both singing or not. What matters is we are doing it together, sparking!
A close friend from church likes to go eat Pho. They know her so well that she doesn’t even have to tell them her order because they already know! She so enjoys her spark time. It’s important that we take time for ourselves.
In the beginning of the Bible in Genesis, it tells how God created the world in the first six days and rested on the 7th day. We are called to rest, as well. Pastor Robert Morris of Gateway Church in Southlake, TX wrote a book entitled, Take the Day Off. It talks about how to receive God’s gift of rest, especially in today’s times when we become overwhelmed, stressed, burned out, just merely existing….the list goes on and on. We highly recommend reading this book. The point here is that when you rest, you recharge yourself which leads to sparks and laughter. if you are not rested, you can’t spark…lol!
We need to bring LAUGHTER back into our lives! It has been deemed by doctors to be one of the best medicines to turn things around and help people feel better. So, go find out what makes you laugh!
When you laugh, you are helping to heal your body and those around you. It helps you be who God created you to be! When we feel good, we are creative! Creativity makes sparks!!! So make sure you are getting plenty of rest and laughter in your life and you will be sparking with the best of them….LOL!!!
I hope this helps you and your marriage! You can always go to our Prayer Wall and add a prayer request. It does not need to be about marriage or a relationship. It can be about anything! It would be our pleasure to pray and stand with you!
If you need to talk with someone, please reach out to info@unitymarriageministry.org. It would bless and honor us to speak with you! REMEMBER:
WE ARE HERE FOR YOU!
